Why Field Test?

Field testing has come to be understood as a vital component of vetting compostable products. This scheme helps ensure that products disintegrate as intended in various facility processes.  Composters’ number 1 challenge is contamination.  Field testing helps confirm that the products that facilities allow are disintegrating as intended.  If they do not disintegrate, these products become part of the problem, rather than part of the solution.

NATIONAL CERTIFIER OF COMPOSTABLE PRODUCTS FOR COMPOST FACILITIES

Get Certified

CMA requires products submitted to pass lab and field testing to become certified compostable. CMA certifies products related to items used to collect and gather yard waste and food scraps.

Non-food categories are not certifiable in CMA facilities, while our team of experts can provide guidance on reasons for this, as well as options to consider for your products outside of solid waste systems.
